Location - Marshall is located about 25 minutes west of downtown Asheville off of HWY 25/70 West.
History - The community was named after John Marshall, chief justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. Marshall is the county seat of Madison County, North Carolina.
Attractions - Walk down historic Main Street or go to the Depot for traditional music and dancing on Friday nights. You'll want to attend the annual Lunsford Music Festival, held the first weekend of October and named for Bascom Lamar Lunsford, the father of folk music who was born right here in Madison.
