Mount Mitchell is located in Burnsville NC in Yancey County. The Mount Mitchell Golf club's primary tract consists of 420 acres of a pristine river basin. Two miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway and surrounded by the Pisgah National Forest. The course received a four and a half star rating in Golf Digest's "Places to Play". Mount Mitchell golf course was ranked in the top ten public courses in the state by the North Carolina Magazine. This wonderful course has a crystal clear river flowing through and has awesome scenic views from almost every shot!
At Mount Mitchell Golf course home sites range from $35,000 and up with scenic mountainside lots available. From early April to mid November the weather is ideal. In summer time, daytime temperatures hover around 80 degrees. Many lovely wild flowers bloom because of the mild climate. In addition to an 18-hole golf course there is the South toe river that meanders through the course and is teeming with brown and rainbow trout. There are plenty of additional things to do in and around Mount Mitchell, such as hiking, tennis, Gemstone mining and fishing.
